At St. Jude League Community Development (SJLCD), Claretian Mission Day is observed on more than just a single day—it’s a celebration of the global Claretian family, united in mission and service throughout the year. This year, as we celebrate the most influential women in our lives, our mothers, the mission theme couldn’t be more fitting: “Women: Agents of Evangelization and Empowerment.”

This powerful theme reminds us that women are truly at the heart of transformation. Whether preserving cultural traditions, leading in faith, sustaining their families, or organizing for justice, women are at the forefront of meaningful change. cross every project supported by SJLCD, their resilience and leadership shine. Santa Maria de Jesus, Sacatepequez, Guatemala

The Strengthening Maya Kakchiqueles Women project preserves cultural identity while providing economic empowerment. By supporting textile production and ancestral art workshops, Indigenous women gain the tools to preserve their heritage and support their families with dignity and pride. Watch the project video!

Nazat, West Bengal, India

The Improving Access to Education for Rural Women initiative opens new doors for over 200 women in West Bengal. Through adult literacy and legal rights education, women are not only gaining essential skills—they are discovering their voice and their agency as citizens and leaders. Watch the project video!

Kingandu, Kwilu Province, Democratic Republic of the Congo

The Improving the Living and Working Conditions of Women in Kingandu project is easing the burden of labor-intensive farming, enhancing agricultural skills, and increasing income potential. These women are turning survival into sustainability, thanks to targeted investment in their work and wellbeing. Watch the project video!
