South Chicago Students Need Your Help!

Our Lady of Guadalupe School (OLGS) has been teaching the next generation of leaders in South Chicago since 1947. Serving Kindergarten–8th grade students by providing high-quality education, warm breakfasts, safe after-school spaces, team sports opportunities, and individualized peer tutoring, OLGS offers its students fantastic opportunities.

In order to make education opportunities possible, the school offers tuition assistance to many families in an area where the average annual income for families is $18,000. The need for financial assistance is great, and your support during the 2021-22 school year is crucial to providing a safe and healthy environment for the students.

Here are some of the items your donation will go toward:

  • Age appropriate science kits
  • Watercolor paint sets
  • Magnetic whiteboards to replace chalkboards
  • Clipboards
  • Small printers
  • Book Collections for classroom libraries
  • Tubs for the books
  • New bookshelves for the library
  • A globe
  • World Atlas
  • A Teaching Clock to teach the concept of time to 1st graders
  • New lighting fixtures with LED efficient light bulbs
  • Tables for the Pre-K Room and chairs

We invite you to find out more about the Our Lady of Guadalupe School needs for the 2021-22 academic year and once again consider offering your generous support. Supporting young people academically requires more than just focusing on reading, writing, and math, and OLGS strives to make a tangible difference in the lives of its students.
